What I love about photography, beyond the technical details... is the opportunity to be surprised by the world around me. So glad to have seen this photograph. :)

I think I was there that exact same day, shooting the exact same piece of ice ;) FEROCIOUS storm as I recall it...not many ventured out, amazing conditions and ice on the beach though, but absolutely brutal.
