The Hillfort

The Ring of the Rath (or Rathgall Hillfort) consists of three concentric stone ramparts from the Bronze Age, with a fourth wall from the Medieval period at its centre. ⁣⁣

I grew up around the corner from this site and can remember being thoroughly unimpressed as a seven year old. I just got back from a trip home and had a chance to revisit the area and was blown away. To be fair, it’s easier to appreciate from above, and through older eyes!⁣⁣
