A Dead Leaf Posing

This is the gorgeous threat display of an adult male Giant Dead Leaf Mantis (Deroplatys desiccata) from South East Asia. A very cool mantis that mimics dried dead leaves so beautifully. When startled he can break out into this threat pose that you see here or simply fall over and play dead till the threat is gone.
