The ranch behind our house in Mexico was owned by two brothers who raised matched pairs of Percheron draft horses. We would see the men out in the pasture with a pair of horses hitched to a carriage, training the horses to walk is a synchronized gate. The teams of horses and the carriages were used in weddings and other festivities in San Miguel de Allende.
