A Cataclysmic Explosion In Space

10,000 years ago a star exploded in a Supernova. The gasses it released form these intricate and colorful filaments that continue to expand.

This was taken from my backyard in Portland over the course of a month with a cooled monochrome camera and narrowband filters. The sensor is the same as the one in the SONY A7R4, however the camera is made by QHY.

The telescope is a 530mm focal length at F5. This is a larger portion of the sky so it required a two-panel stitch.

The colors are from the Hydrogen, Oxygen and Sulfur wavelengths which were mixed to show the structures as clearly as possible as different colors.
