If no one is there to see it

This family found a swimming hole out of the path of the Yellowstone River's current. I watched them for a while, which is inevitable when traveling alone, and wondered what I might be doing or saying if I had someone there with me. If it were my family on the banks of the river, my grandfather finding an easy path into the water.
