Footage from a camera store robbery shows thieves making off with approximately $50,000 in camera equipment in less than one minute.
Hunt's Photo and Video, a camera store in Manchester, New Hampshire, was the recent victim of a robbery in the early morning hours of December 20, in which thieves managed to steal about $50,000 worth of equipment in just 53 seconds, using an ax to break into the store and smash a display case, then dropping armfuls of equipment into plastic storage tubs. What's even more amazing is that this is the second such robbery in just four months, with the first one resulting in a similar loss. Police believe that the two robberies are connected.
The one upside is that being a camera store, Hunt's has good security cameras; in fact, they're the same models that the store installed for the local police. Thankfully, the cameras managed to catch the entire incident, including a look at the face of one of the suspects, though the owner is still tabulating the total damage and the exact items that were lost to the robbery, though they've remained open for business in the meantime.
Hopefully, in addition to replacing the glass, the store will invest in something like security shutters.
