Carrie 01

We were experiencing rather unusual warm weather in Australia right in the middle Autumn. We had a run of a few days, all at 26°c, so we decided to take advantage of the wonderful but brief gap in the weather.

This was shot quite late in the afternoon as we waited for the sunset. My goal in this particular shot was to achieve an isolated feel to the image much like an oil rig in the middle of a vast ocean.

I was in the waist deep water with my camera and yes, the water was quite cold! LOL

I had my assistant setup a studio flash with a 30cm beauty dish on her right which was the shadow side of Carrie. My battery pack was out of sight on the rest of the ruined pier.

I shot low and up towards her to give her as much grandeur as possible.

About 5m to the left was also a group of about a dozen people on the beach enjoying the weather and a drink or 2. Someone with an awesome sense of humor decided to throw on 'Lady In Red' on their stereo system.
