A panorama of the sun setting westward of Mt. Hough. Lake Almanor is seen in the distance. I was about ready to call it done late that afternoon. I knew my oxygen tank was just about empty, but then these huge sunrays came out and I just had to capture them. I shot several series of 7-9 frames each, hand-held. As I finished, I realized my tank had stopped giving me the o2 I needed and I was a long way from my Jeep. I don't know whether I was more afraid of not making it to a fresh tank or of missing a great photo. I'm still here and so is this. Win, win.
