A high shutter speed is a prerequisite for capturing the flowing fins of these fish. Usually around 1/400th and up. Then again, if motion blur is more to your taste, you can certainly dial it down a bit and still keep the eyes and head sharp. As is the case with most all photography, the key to capturing a usable image is to keep the shutter clicking. You'll probably end up pitching 9 out of every 10 shots - on a good day.

wow nice shot...what kind of fish is this? its bring back my childhood memory this fish......I remeber pit them agiants each other....such beautiful yet agrresive fish

A Betta, or Siamese Fighting fish.
