There are many ways to cross the Dubai creek. You can cross one of the many bridges over it. You can take a tunnel under it. But, by far, the most interesting way to cross the creek is taking a ride on a taxi boat called Abra.
This photographs was captured shortly after sunrise at the Abra Station close to the Old Souk region of Dubai.
With modern high rise buildings overshadowing the traditional Abra below, the haze from the heat of the Dubai morning sun almost hiding the aeroplane in the background, it’s a place where new meets old, a perfect metaphor for the rest of Dubai.
