Sometimes as a wedding photographer you run into a couple who is just a lot of fun to work with. This was the case with this wedding, but the only issue was that the bride was down because the weather was overcast (not typical overcast, but almost black clouds...). She felt as though the day was too gloomy to obtain any memorable pictures. This put me down because I really wanted her to be happy on account that she was a really awesome bride to work with. Hence, I set out to capture something that would knock her socks off. Obviously a lot of the colour toning is done in post. Bringing out the sun and that two tone (dark vs light) feel brings the images together. It was a great feeling when I delivered the images and getting a call later that night of her expressing her utter joy of how pleased she was with the images. Funny enough the image has been glorified amongst many of my colleagues as one of the most artistic and well presented wedding pictures they've seen. I guess it just goes to show you, no matter the situation, trust your eye and skill, and you never know what may come from it.
