Tobacco flavored and menthol products

SF Supervisor Malia Cohen, Mayor Ed Lee, and the city of Oakland have teamed with the African American Tobacco Control Leadership Council and other organizations to pass an initiative to ban the retail sale of flavored and menthol tobacco products. The industry targets communities of color and youth, enticing them to begin smoking at an earlier and earlier age, significantly cutting their life spans due to cancer, emphysema and other life threatening illnesses.
