Cliff Palace

Around 800 years ago the Ancestral Pueblo people built villages under cliffs in what is now Mesa Verde National Park. This is Cliff Palace, the largest of several cliff dwellings which contained over 150 rooms. I always get a strange, somewhat saddening, feeling when I look at abandoned buildings and I couldn't help imagining the families that once filled this place.
