The first thing I decided to shoot was the Fountains of Trocadero, and when I say fountains I did not intend to go inside of those, but things happen… I was alone, it was around 4.30 in the morning and the sun just began to release its warm colors. This combined with the cool colors of the blue hour, the city lights really made it a magical moment that only I witnessed on location, and now I share this experience with you.
A bracket of just 3 shots was enough to keep everything visible, but yet keep the dark feel of that morning. Everything was on its place, and not much was needed to be done on post processing besides blending the lights out, since their power was just too bright compared to everything else from the scene. I did need to mask the tower as well, and tried to get out some more details of it. With the help of dodging and burning I was able to balance the light and color of this image. I did keep the aperture at f16 intentionally to create the star burst effect from the light, and it worked!
