Sunday Evening on Princess Street

I'm drawn to street photography, but I get anxious pointing a camera at strangers. It makes things difficult. If I see a person or a composition I'm drawn to, I tend to rush the picture out of some misplaced fear, and it shows in the work.

Reflections offer something of a workaround. I can point my camera at a window or glass wall, find my composition and wait for people to walk by. I'm sure they can see through my scheme if they bother, but it's enough separation to trump my social anxiety.

I shot this on a MIR-1B 37mm and a t3i. I used a split-focus diopter to give a ghostly effect to the surface of the glass.
