Beam Me Up

For years I dreamt about being here, seeing these beautiful light beams, stunning colours, gorgeous shapes. We had just made it to the far end of the canyon when our guide got a radio call, all we could hear is beam, beam, beam! Suddenly our guide was rushing us through the dozens and dozens of people. You see it was late in the year and the light beams should have been over but this one decided to surprise us all. We set up in shooting formation, just like in the army and then, time seemingly stood still. I watched as this spotlight slowly inched its way across the canyon floor. It only lasted minutes but time it felt like a lifetime.
