Claryssa 03 The Colour Of Black and White

Inspired by David Bowies 'Blue Jean' music clip.

I wanted to create a black and white image without actually the image being B/W and especially not use that awful spot colour technique that some peeps do.

I had spent some time with Simone trying to work out how we could do this image so peeps would not think it was a simple B/W conversion.

Simone came up with a great idea of just adding a bit of blue to the lips and if you look carefully, there is still a bit of 'pink' coming through the flesh tones.

This series ended up being published in Gilded magazine and as part of the series, we created an accompanying image where we had a portion of the makeup wiped off to further show that it was makeup that created the B/W tones.

Of course there was the usual skin retouching that I always do and there was also a bit of evening out of the makeup where here shirt is as the makeup didn't quite hide all of Claryssa chest.
