Golden hour overlooking the valley from Mount Taurus in Cold Spring, NY.
One of my favorite hikes in the Hudson Valley is the Washburn to Undercliff trail on Mount Taurus. It's a common location for my sunrise shoots, but on this particular day, I decided to see what sunset is like from above and it did not disappoint. The southern view encapsulates, what I feel, is the true essence of the Hudson Valley. I may be biased having grown up in the small town of Cold Spring just below, but it all just seems to work together in harmony. From the rolling hills of the Highlands to the center of it all, the Hudson River, you get the feeling of Valley life in one frame. The golden hour light helped accentuate that by adding depth and dimension to the landscape and highlighting the features which make this place such an incredible place to live.
