Winds of Change

Serra da Gardunha, in Portugal, with one of the country's largest array of wind power units.

I had my wife and daughter waiting for me some two hundred meters away, tired of seeing dad jumping off the car all day to take pictures, but the light on this was just too beautiful to skip so I tried to forget all the family issues and focused on this one (which turned out to be pretty easy).

I did not use any tripod. The Canon 70-200 IS 2.8 II is absolutely fabulous and tack sharp. The image was exported with Canon's DPP and then I tweaked some hues with PSP.

The shot was taken from Torre, the tallest peak of the highest mountain in continental Portugal - Serra da Estrela. I am facing towards South on this one.

This is the composition I found most pleasing and that at the same time showed the largest number of wind power units.

The hilltop was absolutely silent.
