The Giant Man-Made Lake (Feb 2018)
Imagine, there used to be villages, rice fields and plantations down in the valley before the water rose and fill the area. In 1967, Jatiluhur Dam was completed as the biggest dam in Indonesia. The huge dam holds a reservoir of 3 billion meter cubic and covers 83-kilometer square area. Now, the giant man-made lake plays a crucial role to provide electricity, irrigation, water supply and flood control in West Java.
