Top of the Rock, New York, United States

Whenever I visit colorful, vibrant cities, one of my favorite things to do is to shoot the view of the city from a high vantage point. In an city like New York which has an amazing skyline - I really want to capture a view with THE iconic structure in it - so I usually don't climb them. In Seattle, it's the Space Needle. In Paris, it's the Eiffel. In New York, there are two - Empire State and Freedom Tower. In this picture I captured both from the Rockfeller Center!

Usually I do these shoots at sunset - but on that day it the forecast was cloudy in the evening which didn't sound appealing. It's hard to shoot anything interesting in the flat light of the midday so I came up with this idea of stacking two images. I shot two shots handheld - on focused on the filter (which my GF held), and another on the ESB. I later combined those two images in PS to get this effect. I am really proud with how it came out.
