We were lucky enough to spend eight nights in paradise, in the form of one of the water chalets of the Berjaya Langkawi Resort on Pulau Langkawi off the northwestern coast of Malaysia. Once the hotel management realised I was a photographer, they arranged for us to stay in the bungalow at the very end of the row. This ensured that we had unlimited views over the sea, the horizon and the jungle, which started directly behind the chalets that seemed to float right over the water. We were able to watch exotic animals, like monkeys, monitor lizards or even bats all day long.
From the comfort of the bungalow’s patio I was able to take breathtakingly beautiful pictures. It didn’t matter what direction I looked, there were stunning scenes everywhere. One of them was this cloudy sky over the Langkawi Island, Malaysia which seemed to have caught fire. I was especially impressed by the radiance and vibrancy of all those rich colours and just naturally pressed the shutter button of my camera in order to immortalise this unique scene nature had to offer that day.
