Untitled Panorama 010

Panorama Photo Walk. Venerable Landscape Series. San Francisco, CA. This image belongs to a series that I'm currently working on using a Manfrotto 303 Plus Pano head along with my Tilt-Shift lenses. With these photos, I am interested in process. I purposely left the jagged border produced from an uncropped, stitched photo. In places where the algorithm that produced the panorama did not align properly, I did not fix the mistakes generated by the stitching process. And as technology gets better and algorithms more reliable, the images stitched in updated software look different in current versions than they did in previous versions. For example, I originally used Photoshop CS5 to produce this pano. I was in the middle of working on this series when I started using Photoshop CS6 and immediately I realized the new results looked cleaner and more "accurate." But the more I worked on them, the less I liked the results using the most up-to-date software. So I resorted back to CS5 to finish the series. It was through this process that I was able to discover the subtleties between the old and the new.
