It's not at all easy to find dark sites in Belgium and even at the darkest spots, you'll get some light pollution. But in this case i think that it adds a nice color contrast and feel to the overall image. We also got very lucky with the low fog that appeared above the lake, just in time before the milky way was positioned right were we wanted it to be.
There's also a story about this lake which talks about the mysterious fog that appears at night and sometimes swallows travellers who will never find their way back home in the dense fog. I was fortunate enough to see the fog rising before my own eyes. (Quite fascinating and even a little creepy when all of a sudden the cold kicked in...) I did also manage to get back home to edit some pictures ;)
