Hounds are one of my favourites breeds to photograph. Their long limbs and long snouts add an extra bit of goof to their character. Using a wider focal length I love to distort specific features, in this shot the nose.

I tend to use hard, side lighting to bring out the incredible gloss in dogs fur. My setups normally consist of 3-4 lights and although shot in a studio it's always fantastic to see the dog's character come out when faced in front of some large flashes.. I know even for the confident human it can be daunting!

Love it! :)

Ah, so cute!

Great shot. Reminds me an Australian photographers work, Alex Cearns. She recently released a book "For the Love of Greyhounds".

Thanks! I'll check that out :D
