Mimic

This unidentified species of Flowerfly or Hoverfly, was photographed in Friday Harbor on San Juan Island, Washington State last week. A large sized fly that mimics honey bees in appearance. I liked the pale grey green eyes and striped abdomen, a real eye catcher on the flowers. Shot with the Sony a7RIII and Sony 100-400mm lens with X2 converter, 800mm, f/22, 1/640th sec. at iso 2500.
