I took an afternoon drive to Cherokee, NC, on a mission to photograph a colorful sunset over the Blue Ridge mountains. The weather, though, wasn't very cooperative. Since I was already in the area, I decided to walk through the bamboo forest at the Oconaluftee river.
Love the atmosphere you capture here, Mark. The composition subtly draws the eye into the scene (Is that a path? I'd better walk over & see!) and that touch of light up high avoids a sense of gloom, giving quite an uplifting feeling.
Thank you, Chris! This bamboo forest is a nice little hidden gem in the middle of the town park. And you're correct... taking a few steps to the left reveals a narrow path that leads out to the river. This has become one of my favorite places to go walk, even though the bugs that are attracted to the bamboo will eat you alive. lol!
