Dead Man’s Cove

Sunset at Dead Man’s Cove is a photography dream location with a caveat. The scene is beautiful: waves, sunset, great main subject, direct composition. And that’s the caveat...how do you tell an interesting story that hasn’t been told by everyone who visits here? Too much one direction or the other and the island blends into the background. Too much foreground and the logjam distracts from the beauty of the lone tree. I saw this small rock that lined up perfectly with the reflection of the tree on the wet sand. I used that small rock and the water droplets that surrounded it as my unique take on an iconic Washington State image.
