Niesen is one of many mountains in Switzerland located adjacent to Lake Thun in the Bernese Alps. This mountain is bigger than any in the UK, in fact Niesen is taller than Ben Nevis and Scafell Pike put together making it 2,362m (7,749ft)! Showing the true beauty and scale of this mountain I was able to capture it whilst being shrouded with long atmospheric clouds gently brushing the shoulders and the peak of this mighty mountain. This shot was originally taken in colour like all my photos, however as the tones and Colours in this Scene were very basic, I chose to convert this image into black and white, to draw attention and hone into the prominence of this natural structure amidst the lenticular clouds.
