"Those who flow as life flows know they need no other force." ~ Lao Tzu

Lao Tzu's ancient philosophy is known as the Watercourse Way. Water always flows, somehow, back to its source...through, around, over, under...and it never uses force to do so.

When we flow in this way, our lives become more peaceful, joyful, and harmonious because we are no longer fighting the current or pushing upstream.

My photographic vision is to create images that speak to this flow.

This is an abstract ICM (intentional camera movement) image of the afternoon sunlight reflecting off the current of the Cedar River, in east-central Iowa. I used an in-camera, hand-held, wavy horizontal movement to create the effect.
