Seneca Lake, Watkins Glen, New York, USA
I found this old tree root poking out of the waters in the far southern end of Seneca Lake while location scouting for a morning shoot. The mornings had been blessed with thick fog, and I could picture this scene with the far shore completely erased by the low cloud. Sure enough, the next morning brought the exact conditions I needed, so I waded out to the root and found this minimal composition.
