Underground Mosque

Masjid Taman Sari is located in the basement of Taman Sari Jogjakarta. The mosque was built around the Taman Sari 1750. This mosque has a unique architecture. Underground mosque consists of two floors with a round shaped cavity - the cavity a window on the outside. The bottom floor is used for female worshipers, pilgrims upstairs for men. The stairs from the ground floor leading to the upper floor is located in the middle of the circle. In addition there is a small pond in the middle of the round shape of the mosque as well as the transverse ladder on it.
