Waldo Revealed

The full moon at dawn setting over Waldo Lake in the Oregon Cascades. Lake surface is ~5,200ft. in altitude. Lake surface is seven miles by 1 1/2 with depths to 2,000+ ft. Water so pure / clear you can see the bottom to roughly 110’. Snowed in from late October through early June. Miserable with mosquitoes from June through mid-August. Realistically one can only access for 7-8 weeks each year unless you want to snow mobile or x-country ski seven miles from the nearest highway. I have very sweet memories from annual camping trips as a kid and subsequently with my wife / kids. This photo taken at roughly 5:30am in late spring with a Sony a65 using a 28-75 zoom.
