I got my new Canon r5 a few weeks ago but hadn't gotten out to use it yet because the capture software I use wont recognize the files yet ( capture one pro ). But after staring at it every day while it sat on my desk I finally decided to just go out and shoot. The camera felt amazing with its more classic button layout ( different from the R and RP ) and the new evf and autofocus made this thing a joy to shoot with. Even into direct sun I had a 100% hit rate.
The post process was a little weird because I had to convert the files to .dng but after that I was back in business editing in Capture One.
Overall I am happy with this initial test and can't wait for updates to come out so I can integrate this camera into my everyday workflow.
