The day after the first snow was observed in the Japanese Alps, I was on a night hike up Mt Yake. There is always a plume of smoke rising just below the summit, and I always feel the heartbeat of the earth when I come here. I waited for the moment when the plume would be illuminated by the morning sun. And I got that chance.
The camera was a Nikon Z7 with a Z24-70mm f/4 lens.
