On the trail at "Grand balcony nord" in Chamonix the weather builds up with strong winds in the heights around Aiguille du Dru. This made a beautiful contrast in weather between the trail and peak engulfed in clouds. Sadly one can clearly see the vanishing of the glacier at Mer de Glace. Since 1850 the glacier has retreated with over 2km.
Because of the strong contrast in light the picture was taken with auto exposure and focus bracketing. Auto exposure bracketing was done with 3 images. Focus bracketing was done by taking 2 images. One with the foreground in focus and the other with the mountain in focus.
