Lake Louise got a bunch of snow so I headed out and woke up early for a sunrise shot at Emerald Lake. Snow was so thick on the way out I had to really slow it down on the drive out. When I got to the lake for sunrise I was super happy to see someone either left the lights on at the cafe or forgot about them. There are always weddings here and I love the look of the cabin glow with the snow and lake. Lots of snow coming down but wasn't showing up well in the file so I "helped" it show through. Still captures the morning well for me.

Spectacular, Mike!
The reflection, the complementary colours, the warmth from cabins; I can well imagine coming home to the warmth and safety.
5 stars!
Thank you so much. I love this place
I can see why. I can only dream of such places.
That is awesome, love the light reflections on the lake
What a lovely shot of a beautiful place. Well done!
Such an amazing atmosphere and out of this world colors. I guess by the exposure time that it take good amount of creativity and a wise thought and preparation to get such thing. congrats.
Thank you. The exposure time was for the lights. I really wanted to make sure the glow came through well. I think the lights really make the photo
Awesome! A great image with the lighting and the shadows. One of my favorite places. Haven't been there is a very long time, so it brings back memories.
Thank you very much Pete
How did you "help" the snow to show through?
I did it in photoshop. It was snowing a lot that morning but looking at the files there was nothing showing up. Not sure how I could have gotten it to work in file, so I did my best to recreate it
