This photograph captures the winter scene along the Straits of Mackinac, where blue ice has naturally formed and stacked near the shore, with the iconic Mackinac Bridge stretching across the background. The bridge connects Michigan’s Upper and Lower Peninsulas. The image was taken during the "blue hour," which amplifies the cool tones of the ice, snow, and sky.
To add depth and highlight some of the ice, I used two small, portable LED lights to backlight the middle section of ice. In Lightroom, I brought up exposure and shadows to reveal more detail, cut back highlights some, and brought up texture and clarity a bit emphasize the ice texture. Sharpening was applied as well.
