Catching The First Light

Nothing quite like the pleasure forcing myself out of bed for a sunrise shoot after a cloudy evening. The night prior was rather disappointing I wasn't able to get a clear sky and struggled to find anything. So I quickly decided for Plan B.
The morning light was glorious along the boulevard. With the help of PhotoPills app, I was able to plot the direction of the sun aligned to this lone tree in the water I found in Google Maps.
Setup my ultra-wide lens, going for the cliché sunstar (but rather soft) through the silhouette, composed with the rocks to give some visual weight to the image. I knew that at least, I would have one nice image from that weekend. I could feel my frustration fading away.
