The Mannequin

The Mannequin is part of an ongoing series I am currently working on titled "The Uninvited"
In hopes of spreading more in depth awareness for mental health issues. I've begun creating a portrait series of fictional characters that personify the various effects that mental illness has on a person's sense of self. The impact that it has can create a multitude of different personas in the mind's eye. Many people effected by mental illness maintain a facade from day to day. Some for the sake of others, and some purely out of shame. Using digital photography and photo manipulation, The Uninvited takes a closer look at what lies behind the curtain. Taking the viewer on a surreal journey as they meet these somewhat disturbing characters. My goal is to make viewers uncomfortable while promoting compassion and awareness for an issue effecting nearly 50 million Americans today.
