To Stay Afloat

Probably one of the worst photos I have taken so far this year. I stared at it, analyzing it. It breaks probably 8/10 compositional rules alone. And yet. I couldn't hit the delete button. Why?
I think this photo pretty much sums up this entire past year for me. Struggling to keep my head above water. Feeling naked, vulnerable and powerless. Constantly wondering who I even am anymore. I think the image itself resonated with me on such a deeply personal level. I was able to see past the technical flaws. Sometimes it isn't the perfect lighting, the mastering of composition, or retouching the perfect skin. It's how an image makes us feel, how it touches us that truly matters.
