Burning Beneath the Stars

Captured this near the Kurundu Ella Falls, Walapane in Sri Lanka. My plan was to capture the star trail with this beautiful scenery in the foreground and suddenly a wildfire started. The wind was heavy and it spread very fast. According to the locals, these fires aren't naturally occurring, these are human doings. The whole night this mountain was on fire. The reason why people are doing this is beyond me.
