Ethereal light

Mont-Saint Michel in the background, to frame, during a sunset with a very delicate light. The tide rose rapidly, in a few minutes, and the right light with the water rising rapidly lasted only for a moment.

This is a cool image! I love how you found a unique perspective on a rather overshot location and made the subject something entirely different. The different water effects and the blending of the tides and sand make me second guessing what I'm looking at which builds a ton of interest.

I find my eye going to those little mounds in the water and I think cloning them out might make the overall image look cleaner (both on the right side and the ones under Mont-Saint Michel).

I'm not usually a fan of ocean, horizon, sunset images but I think the unique water and the castle in the background make this stand out from other similar images. I can see why the editors picked this as a Photo of the Day.

Thank you for your feedback! I actually don’t like too to take pictures in overrated and crowded places but sometimes I go there too, so I always try to find a new perspective.

I am mainly a sunset and su rise photographer so I am glad that you can appreciate my pictures even though you are not a fan of the genre, and it always makes me quite proud if I can convey the beauty of a place I saw with my own eyes.

I just meant I’m not a fan of sunrise only photos as in a perfect horizon and sunset. I definitely love photos taken at sunset and sunrise; that’s one of the best times to shoot!
