I also try to incorporate unanswered questions, the function of a cliffhanger in a series, in my photos, a photo does not always have to tell the full story.
I think the best part is when certain pictures are recognizable and that everyone can imagine.
An 'older' man, sitting alone at a table with a beer, alone and looking outside. Everyone can empathize with such a person and wonder why that man is sitting there alone at a table.
Playing with the unknown is an element that you can play with as a photographer.
I love this image! Great use of the environment. I do wish Jacob had a bit more of an expression. I'm also on the fence of whether the beer bottle needs to be in the shot or not. I'd be proud of this image either way.
I really like this image. He is depicted as a gentleman with whom I'd enjoy having a beer and an evening chat.
