Franz Joseph Glacier

Never trust any weather report in New Zealand ... That's what I learnt along the west coast. While I was hiking up to this spot I hiked through thick fog and was worried I would not be able to see anything from the top. When I finally made it, the clouds parted a bit but the glacier was still covered. I met a lovely guy and we chatted a bit and also discovered that the only water up there was from a stinky tarn ... Not the greatest prospects. Anyways I still decided to pitch my tent and heated up some lovely tarn water for dinner and just when I was finished and the sun began to set the clouds over the glacier started to clear ...
