Sefton Bivouac

This little bivouac hut in the Mount Cook national park has definitely been a highlight. After the hike up through the incredible landscape of the hooker valley surrounded by glaciers and rivers I made it to this small four bed hut. I was immediately welcomed by a couple of people who already made their way up earlier. We enjoyed our freeze-dried meals and played a great round of rock game over the beautiful sunset in the valley. After the sun had set the temperature immediately dropped and I crawled into my sleeping bag and set an alarm for 1 am ... When the alarm went off I did not want to leave my cozy sleeping bag ... But shivering I set up my tripod and went back into my tent. Was it worth it?
