On my recent photo trip to Greenland I got stuck in Uummannaq, an amazing island located a few hundred miles north of the polar circle. Due to helicopter failure and high winds I had 7 extra days there. But the wind was also strong enough to blow the snow off of the ice lake (a photo that I really wanted to take but was impossible due to the snow covering it up), revealing the awesome patterns underneath.

talk about freezing
I have been there, in July 2004. A place that makes one think, pretty remote
The remoteness and cold comes straight through your image into the viewer--I love the ice detail--great shot! I hope to go to Greenland soon!
Thanks Steve! Good luck on your travel plans, Greenland is definitely worth it ... and bring some extra time.
