This photograph was made back in February 2015 in Hamilton, New Jersey for a local burger joint called Rossi's Burgers from the infamous Chambersburg section of Trenton, NJ. I originally wanted to make this photograph in the restaurant itself but the high demand for burgers wouldn't allow that.
I wanted to portray a burger that literally wanted to float right off the plate. The main shot is the fries on the table with the bottom bun. Then I photographed the ingredients individually, compositing them together in photoshop.
I used a Canon 600ex flash on a strip soft back off to the right to bring some light into the french fries. For my main light I had a Alien Bee 800 Overhead with a 30" x 60" foldable softbox overtop and slightly coming towards the camera.
