Bose Headphones

The other day I decided to take a photo of my Bose noise canceling headphones. I wanted to take a photo that could be imagined as an advert and that shows the product in a dramatic and dynamic way. Than I did some research to see what kind of photos already exist for this product, so I wouldn't work in a too similar direction.
I decided to photograph the headphones on a wooden under-/background and let them levitate, also slightly tilted that I get a more dynamic look.
To make them levitate, I simply used some thread that I tied around the headphones and connected it to a tripod with an arm.

To get the dramatic look I was looking for I used the following, quiet simple light setup.
One flash with a 90 cm softbox and a grid from the left side, so it would mainly hit the product and not the background. A second flash with a softbox and grid behind my headphones to get some back light.
A third flash with a honey comb was necessary for a spot on the underground and a fourth light, also with a honey comb, to get another spot for he background. Additionally I used some white and black cardboard to highlight or darken specific areas of the headphones and under-/background.

I also took some additional photos of the headphones, in the same style, in different angles and a detail shot. If you wonder how the other photos look like just check out my website.

Over all I am very happy with the result. What do you think?
